
Merchanting in 1346
You are a humble merchant in the middle ages, each day you take a loop around the town to buy wares and sell them for higher prices.
Made during 96 hours by a solo dev for GMTK jam 2025.
All art and programming was made by me during the jam. The picking up item SFX was taken from an earlier project but other SFX's are done during the jam. The music was based on an earlier track I've made but I switched the instruments to make it more medieval.

Extra Endgame challenges (post in the comments if you succeed or have more ideas!)
- High class: fill you inventory with only vases (7/8 slots) - 2 players has achieved this
- Capitalism: fill your inventory (8 slots) with only money (all but one slot £20) - 2 players has achieved this
- Budget cuts: complete the game without ever going over £30 - 1 player has done this

donkey was worth it to put in

This is pretty cool! I felt the days were a bit too short for me to read the prompts. I didn't realize I was paying for the items I walked over!
This is so cool, the puzzle aspect was very nice :3
Wow I absolutely love the art in this (especially the donkey :D). I've encountered a bug tho after I buy the backpack I can't seem to pick up wares anymore
Thanks for playing! Good for you that you liked the donkey. Sorry to hear about the bug, I hope it won't be that common! (A lot of moving parts in a game like this can create soo many edgecases)
After some thought I think what happened is that you bought the backpack with all your money, meaning that you couldn't "pick up" = "buy" any more items. If yhis happens you can always get back by the question mark events!
